The readings in this course come in basically two forms:
those that are prescribed
those that you choose
Your ability to choose the text with which you work provides for you a natural vested interest in what you are reading. More importantly, we want you to be part of the creation of an environment that enables us to have an on-going dialogue about the things we are reading.
Consider the following pages on the left:
What We've Read - This page facilitates a discussion of things that students have read in the past and their thoughts on those texts.
What I'm Reading Now - Students choose a variety of independent reading selections throughout the course; on this page, students address things on their mind while reading.
What We're Reading Now - In addition to their independent selections, we will read certain texts as a class. Students have a chance to talk about what is on their mind while reading along with questions/concerns.
